Morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park. The ‘Endless Plains’ of the Serengeti span some 14,700 square kilometres and capture the essence of Africa, with their main claim to fame the 3 million or so animals that make their home here. Massive numbers of grazing animals and various predators can be seen – wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, lion, cheetah, warthog, hyena, hippo and ostrich – and the interaction between the many species often provides some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in the world. Also, there is a large variety of bird life. Overnight at Halisi Tented Lodge or Similar. Meals Included: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
A highlight awaits you this morning as you depart with packed lunch to explore what is commonly referred to as the world’s wildlife Garden of Eden. You’ll descend through the mist and 2,000 feet into the crater. Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Due to its size and diversity, the crater floor is comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes. With more than 30,000 resident animals – hopefully you'll see some or all of the 'big five' animals that rule here. It is an awe-inspiring wildlife experience. Your lodge for the night is in a lush and quiet oasis in the small town of Karatu. Overnight at Karatu Country Lodge or Similar. Meals Included: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
Depart after breakfast and head to Arusha. You then transfer on to Kilimanjaro Int’l Airport for your homebound flight. Meal Included: Breakfast.
Have a few extra days? How about spending them on a beach in Zanzibar where you can relax or be as busy as you like visiting the giant tortoises on Prison Island, walk through the Jozani Forest in search of the Zanzibar red colobus monkey and other forest residents, or join a walking tour through the narrow alleys, past the old houses and numerous shops that are a part of historic Stone Town.
